” Think BIG, shop SMALL “

Everyone loves a good giveaway and this Christmas season, we were determined to give you a cracker! (Yep, that pun was intended – were not above a good Dad joke here!)

You may have noticed on your facebook feed in the last month that we have been promoting our 12 Days of Christmas initiative.

To help support our fellow businesses, we decided we wanted to do something for our clients and for the awesome community we do business in.  We wanted it to be meaningful and we wanted it to reflect our values.

And while many ideas were floated, the one that we all agreed would do the most good was a 12 Days of Christmas promotion.

The idea was that we would purchase gifts from local businesses, then promote their product and business through our social media.

Our goal was to help other local businesses over the Christmas period by encouraging our valued clients to shop local.

What we received was an overwhelmingly positive response from our terrific community.

Each promotion was met by dozens of likes, comments, and shares. What was great to see was the positive feedback you were providing about the businesses included in our promotion.

What we also loved was the way our community was engaging with each other as they tagged each other in.

“From meat to blow waves to massages and lawn mowing services, the giveaways were specially chosen to reflect the range of the products and services available in our local area,” explained our Director Adam McMahon.

“It was so great to see each of the giveaways met with such enthusiasm and I loved having a chuckle at some of the comments – I now know who are the best BBQ’ers in the area and whose barbies I should steer clear of. A little bit of banter is a very Australian way to spend Christmas and as we read through the comments, we were reminded of what a friendly and fun region we get to live and work in.”

Barbecue skills sledging aside, the response from the community for our promotion gave us all a little extra spring in our step this festive season, while this comment from local Shannon Cook sums up the general sentiment around the promotion, “Thank you to all involved in this awesome giveaway. Merry Christmas.”

A big thank you to our local businesses involved and continuing to make our community great – Stokes Lane Café, Woonona Florist, D’vine Skin & Body, Thirroul Fruit Barn, Mountain View Meats, Maisy & Co, His & Hers, Taylor’s Healthy Grocer, Elysha Lee Hair, Fernwood Fitness Woonona, GJR Cakes, & Black Diamond Yard Maintenance.

Community spirit is alive and well in the Northern Illawarra suburbs. It’s pretty obvious we all love living here, doing business and shopping here!

So from all of us at Dignam, we’d like to thank you – our local community of friends and family – for shopping local, supporting local business and for being some pretty great people to do business with.

From all of us to all of you, we wish you a Merry Christmas, a peaceful and relaxing holiday spent with your family and friends and a wonderful New Year.

We can’t wait to see what 2020 brings for our top little community!
